Sierra pulls away late to defeat Falcons

The FLC men's basketball team opened Big 8 Conference play on Wednesday night with a 91-72 loss to Sierra College at Falcon Gym.  The two teams played a close first half with the Wolverines up by just four at the break, 37-33.  In the second half, turnovers doomed the Falcons as they tried to force the ball inside.  Meanwhile, Sierra started scoring with regularity as they pulled ahead down the stretch to win by 19.  Zethan Dumpson led all scorers with 31 points for the Falcons, his season high.  Isiah Maun added 14 points and shared rebound honors with Dumpson at 9, while Darryl Heidelberg tallied 12 points, mostly in the paint.  The Falcons' next opponent is defending Big 8 champion Santa Rosa on December 29 at SRJC, then they return home to play American River on January 2.
