Falcons edged by Delta, 6-5
The FLC baseball team resumed their three-game series against Delta College on Thursday afternoon with a close 6-5 loss to the Mustangs at Falcon Field. The game was a see-saw affair that saw the lead change hands five times. Even after the Mustangs rallied for three runs in the eighth inning, the Falcons closed to within one in the bottom half of the eighth. But that was all they could muster off of Mustang closer Raul Rizzo, who had five strikeouts over the final two innings. Falcon starter Brandon Bachman was solid in his five innings of work, allowing just one run on four hits and left with a 2-1 lead. Third baseman Josh Winkler paced the Falcons' offense with his two hits –including a double – and two RBI. The series finale is Saturday at 1:00 pm in Stockton.
