With a 'bye' week in their Big 8 schedule, the FLC baseball team had to travel to Susanville on Tuesday to find a non-conference opponent. The long trip must have been just what the Falcons needed as they defeated the Cougars, 14-4. Starting pitcher Grant Dragmire pitched five strong innings, followed by relievers Austin Beard, Zach Martin, and Shane Gustafson. Designated hitter Greg Vaughn hit his first home run of the season, while Carson McCusker recorded his fourth consecutive multi-hit game. He now has seven games this season in which he's gotten three or more hits, and yesterday's four RBI gave him 42 for the season (second in California).
The Falcons are off the rest of this week, then resume Big 8 play next week against Cosumnes River.
