Baseball team ends regular season with win; await playoffs

The Falcons recovered from Tuesday's disappointing loss to Laney with an important 10-9 victory over Napa Valley on Thursday in Napa.  The win closes out the regular season for the Falcons at 23-13 overall  and 18-6 in the Bay Valley Conference.  Sophomore starting pitcher Will Felton earned the win, allowing two runs in his five innings and leaving with a 6-2 lead.  The Storm managed to make things interesting as they scored three runs in the seventh and four more in the ninth, and had the tying run on base when the final out was recorded.  Catcher Mason Allen had a big day at the plate for the Falcons with two doubles and a home run in six at-bats.  Tyler Kaim and Nick Schumacher both had a double and a homer as well, and Greg Vaughn smashed two triples while driving in three runs.

The Falcons will now await the results of the NorCal seeding meeting on Sunday.  At present, they are projected to be around the 13th seed, meaning they would travel to play the #4 seed next Friday and Saturday (May 6-7) in a best-of-three series.
