Falcons down Yuba, stay undefeated in April

It may sound like a broken record, but the formula continues to be a winning one for the FLC baseball team: great pitching, good defense, and timely hitting have propelled the Falcons to a 6-0 record in April.  Yesterday's 12-1 rout of Yuba College at Falcon Field was the perfect demonstration of why the Falcons are rolling.  Starter Josh Moore allowed just one unearned run on four hits over seven innings.  In his last three starts, Moore has pitched 24 innings while allowing just one earned run, an ERA of 0.37.  Meanwhile, the offense rapped out 19 hits, highlighted by a pair of three-run home runs.  Catcher Mason Allen went deep in the sixth inning giving the Falcons a 9-1 lead, then designated hitter Kale Leach went yard in the eighth inning to make it 12-1.  Six Falcon hitters got at least two hits apiece – Mike Majeski and Tyler Kaim each had four – while five Falcons had a least two RBI.  The win was the Falcons' sixth straight – they've yet to lose in April – and 10th  win in their last 12 games dating back to March 19.  At 15-5, they're currently two games behind Bay Valley Conference leader Laney College and just ½ game behind second-place Los Medanos.  The remaining four games are all on the road, beginning with Mendocino on Thursday before playing at Contra Costa on Saturday.
