Baseball team back on winning track

The Falcons shook off a two-game losing streak on Saturday when they defeated Napa Valley in 12 innings, 2-1.  Falcon starting pitcher Josh Moore was brilliant, allowing just one run on six hits over eight innings.  Napa's Troy Nixon was equally as impressive, giving up one unearned run in his seven innings.  With neither team able to add to their score, the game went into extra innings tied at one.   But in the 12th, FLC's Ty Maria led off with a double.  With Vincent DeBove pinch-running for Maria, Austin Wailes bunted him over to third.  Greg Vaughn then hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring DeBove with what turned out to be the winning run.  Reliever Jason Wullenwaber picked up the win with three scoreless innings of relief.

The Falcons improved their BVC record to 10-5 (15-12 overall), two games behind leader Laney and just one back of second-place Los Medanos.
