Majeski Enjoys Magical Night as Falcons Win 6-3

Michael Majeski pretty much did it all Monday night.  The usual starting centerfielder for the Falcons took the mound as the starting pitcher for last night's game against Mendocino and turned in possibly the finest outing by an FLC pitcher this season.  Majeski pitched seven innings of one-hit ball, did not allow an earned run, and retired the last 15 consecutive batters he faced.  That's right, not a single Mendocino batter reached base - after a harmless two-out walk in the second inning - until after Majeski left in the eighth inning.  By then, the Falcons had a 6-2 lead and had collected 14 hits.  Oh, and Majeski  also contributed 3 hits, 3 RBI's, and scored twice, including a first-inning, first-pitch leadoff home run to left field.

All nine Falcon starters got at least one hit, including two each for FP Santangelo, Grant Heisinger, and Tyler Kaim.  Kaim's sacrifice fly in the 3rd scored Majeski with the Falcon's second run, and his double in the 7th drove in Heisinger with their final run.  Will Felton pitched a perfect 9th inning to earn his first save.
