Baseball Beats Rain And Los Medanos

As the bus rolled away from Folsom Lake College yesterday morning, it was raining so hard that it didn't seem possible the FLC baseball team would actually get to play their game at Los Medanos College.  But miraculously, the storm mostly bypassed Pittsburg – at least until late afternoon – allowing the teams to complete 5+ innings, which turned out to be just enough for the Falcons to get the 8-3 win.  FLC took an early 2-0 lead in the first thanks to an RBI single by Noah French and a sacrifice fly by Austin Wailes.  The lead didn't last, though, as the Mustangs countered with two runs in the second and another in the third.  The Falcons tied it up in the fourth on a bases loaded wild pitch, allowing Josh Criswell to score from third.  A five-run outburst in the fifth inning, highlighted by RBI singles by Criswell and Michael Majeski, put the Falcons up 8-3.  With the rain starting to fall, the Falcons managed to shut down Los Medanos and earn the rain-shortened victory.  With the win, the Falcons' record improved to 19-10 overall and 11-6 in the BVC.
