Baseball Drops One To Napa Valley

The Falcons went into Spring Break facing a crucial 2-game series with the team they were tied with for 3rd place, Napa Valley.  The Falcons took the opener on Saturday (March 28) 4-0, behind Ryan Pearman's seven innings of shutout ball.  On Tuesday (March 31), Napa Valley returned the favor as they shutout the Falcons, 3-0, on six hits (all singles).  Will Felton was the Falcons' hard-luck starter that day, allowing two runs on just two hits over five+ innings.  The split leaves the Falcons tied with Napa Valley for third place with just eight conference games remaining – one against each team.  At 18-10/10-6 in the BVC, the Falcons will likely need five more wins to reach the playoffs.  This week's opponents are all on the road, starting with Los Medanos in Pittsburg tomorrow (weather permitting).
