Women’s volleyball takes down Modesto, 3-1

The Falcons may have been guilty of looking past the Modesto Pirates (3-8 in Big 8) on Friday evening in Modesto, but quickly found out they can't win on reputation alone.  The Pirates took the first set, 25-14, before the Falcons regrouped and won the next three sets, 25-15, 25-13, and 25-21.  FLC coach Matt Torrez praised sophomore Isabel Mason for her all-around good game, and also highlighted the play of freshman Ashley Lewis.  "Isabel just had an solid game," noted Torrez.  "She really had it going.  And Ashley did a great job for us in the back row; she really played good defense."  The Falcons remain tied atop the Big 8 standings with Delta and Sierra at 10-1.  They'll host Sacramento City (3-8) on Wednesday night before the big showdown with Sierra on Friday night at Falcon Gym.
