Falcons defend home court with 3-set sweep over Cosumnes River

Friday night's home contest against LRCCD sister college Cosumnes River went according to form as the first-place Falcons defeated the Hawks in straight sets, 25-16, 25-14, and 25-18.  Once again, coach Matt Torrez was able to utilize most of his roster in the victory, including sophomore Allison Whitall, who had missed nearly a month of action with illness.  "It means a lot to get Ally back in action, especially with the final six matches coming up," commented Torrez.  Sophomore outside hitter Isabel Mason had a notable performance with several kills down the line against the Hawks.  The Falcons are in a virtual tie for first place in the Big 8 with Delta and Sierra, each with a single loss in conference play.  With just one match this week – on Friday in Modesto – this is a great week for the team to sharpen up for the November 3rd and November 10th  showdowns against Sierra and Delta.
