Volleyball team sweeps Sierra!

What was supposed to be a showdown for first place in the Big 8 Conference turned out to be a surprisingly easy win for the FLC volleyball team as they made quick work of their match at Sierra College on Wednesday night, winning in straight sets 25-15, 25-16, and 25-6 (no, that is not a typo).  The Falcons jumped out to a quick 8-point lead in the first set and never looked back.  They never trailed in any set, finishing off the match in just over an hour.  Falcon head coach Matt Torrez praised his team's effort and focus, particularly that of setter Samantha Hegseth.  "She has worked really hard, and it is very evident in her play.  She's our floor leader; she's what makes us go."  The Falcons improved to 14-1 overall and remain undefeated in the Big 8, along with Delta College, at 5-0.  The schedule doesn't get any easier for the Falcons, with Santa Rosa visiting on Friday night, followed by Delta next Wednesday.
