Falcons win twice at Hartnell Tournament

The Falcons opened their 2017 season with two exciting victories at the Hartnell College (Salinas) Tournament on Friday.  They first defeated the host college Hartnell Panthers in a tense 5-set match, 19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 29-31, and 15-3. The Falcons followed that with a 3-1 victory over Foothill College, 23-25, 25-14, 25-14, and 25-20. Sophomore Kylie Haverson picked up where she left off last November, recording 19 kills and 30 digs in the opening match, then adding 15 kills and another 15 digs against Foothill. Sophomore setter Samantha Hegseth tallied 42 and 36 assists in the two matches, while Kate Nicknig totaled 20 kills and 9 blocks.
