Women’s Volleyball Advances With 3-1 Win Over Delta

The Folsom Lake College women's volleyball team made it clear on Wednesday night that they weren't satisfied with just making the state playoffs; they want to leave a mark.  They did just that after they dealt Big 8 rival Delta College a 3-1 loss at Falcon Gymnasium on Tuesday night in the first round of the playoffs.  After losing the first set 21-25, the Falcons shook off their nerves and won the next three sets 25-23, 25-21, and 25-17.  Falcon freshman hitter Kate Nicknig had a big night as she continuously hit over the Mustang blockers.  Setter Isabel Mason and defender Alexis Mauck were both instrumental in the victory for the Falcons, as was outside hitter Kylie Haverson.  The win was the Falcons' 20th  of their inaugural season and they'll attempt to add to that on Saturday night when they travel to Aptos to play number one seed Cabrillo College in Round 2.  The winner of that match will advance to the State Final Eight at Pierce College in Los Angeles.
