Big Win for Women’s Soccer in Fresno

Fresno, CA – FLC headed to Fresno on Friday to face Fresno City College, who eliminated the Falcons in last year's Elite Eight round of the CCCAA State Championships. This time it was the Falcons who came out on top as they defeated the Rams by a final score of 2-0.

The game winning goal came in the second minute of the match when Grace Pratt created space on the dribble from 17 yards out and accurately placed a shot to the far post to beat the goalkeeper and put the Falcons up 1-0.

Kaire Horton created several scoring opportunities but was not able to find the back of the net. Meanwhile, the Rams challenged sophomore goalkeeper Reese Clarke, almost scoring from a dangerous header, but Clarke was able to deflect the shot and kept the Falcons up 1-0.

In the 84th minute Grace Pratt slipped a through ball between the two Fresno center backs and found teammate, Olivia Chimienti, who calmly passed it by the goalkeeper to put the Falcons up 2-0.
