Falcons clinch top seed with 6-0 win over Diablo Valley

With a second-half offensive explosion and another shutout of their opponent, the FLC women's soccer team rolled to their 8th consecutive Big 8 Conference victory on Tuesday afternoon as they defeated Diablo Valley 6-0 at Falcon Stadium.  After being held to just one first-half goal, the Falcons erupted for five goals in the second half to break the game open.  Sophomore forward Avery Pieri tallied two goals and an assist and freshman Chloe Valleau had a goal and an assist to lead the Falcon attack.  Goalkeepers Grace Filiau and Reese Clarke combined for the shutout, their sixth shared shutout of the season.  It was also the 13th overall shutout of the season for the defense.

With the victory, the Falcons clinched home field throughout the Big 8 Tournament, which begins on Friday afternoon against the number 8 seed, this same Diablo Valley team.  The Falcons (14-0-2, 8-0 in Big 8) will be looking for their tenth consecutive victory when they take on the Vikings at 3:30 pm.
