Falcons light up the net for 8-1 victory

The long awaited season-opener for the FLC women's soccer team - expected to be a tight contest with Big 8 Conference rival Santa Rosa – turned into a runaway as the Falcons scored five second-half goals to win convincingly, 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon in Petaluma.  Led by freshman midfielder Taylor Curtis and sophomore transfer Erika Olivera-Gutierrez, who scored two goals apiece, the Falcons made a statement with their dominant win.  Freshmen Gigi Hall, Kaia Mills, Alyssa Bloxham, and Avery Pieri all scored goals for the Falcons, while Curtis and Annette Medina each contributed with two assists.

Head coach Donny Ribaudo was obviously pleased with the outcome, but also that every player on the roster saw game action, including both goalkeepers.

The Falcons will next play on Friday afternoon at Falcon Stadium when they host Feather River at 4:00 pm in the opening match of a men's and women's doubleheader.
