Falcons' season ends with 0-0 overtime draw at Fresno as Rams advance on PK's

For 120 minutes, the #6 seed Falcons and #3 seed Fresno Rams gave it their all, and still neither side would allow a goal.  Tuesday afternoon's round 2 playoff match was one for the ages, as the teams played to a scoreless draw after 90 minutes of regulation and 30 minutes of overtime.  Though the match is officially recorded as a tie, someone has to advance to the next round of playoffs.  By virtue of the dreaded Penalty Kick shootout, the Rams (19-2-3) will continue their season while the Falcons (15-4-5) are finished.  Whether it was fatigue, nerves, or bad luck, the Falcons somehow missed their first three PK's while the Rams found the net with each of theirs, ending the drama 3-0.  After 120 minutes of playing their hearts out, it was the a lousy pill for the Falcons to swallow.
