Falcons win at Sac City

Despite playing their second match in two days, the Falcons found a way to earn yet another win on Tuesday night as they defeated Sacramento City College, 3-0, in Sacramento.  The back-to-back matches, a first for the Falcons,  proved to be less than ideal as they had to work harder than expected to overcome a motivated Panthers squad that is still winless in 2018.  Falcon freshmen Emma Thompson and Sarah Scott, along with sophomore scoring leader Alhan Bakideh (ironically a Sac City transfer), provided the scoring for the Falcons with all three goals coming in the first half.  The Panthers managed to shut out the Falcons in the second half, a remarkable achievement considering the 11-0 blowout result from the first time the teams met a month ago.  The Falcons could possibly be excused as they look toward Friday's match at Sierra; the Wolverines are undefeated and are ranked second in California at 19-0, and have already clinched the Big 8 title with their 14-0 conference record.   The teams will meet at 4:00 pm in Rocklin, the Falcons' final road match of the regular season.
