Falcons dominate Butte, 6-0
With an open date in their Big 8 schedule, the Falcons hosted Butte College in a non-conference match on Wednesday night at Falcon Stadium and handed the Roadrunners just their fourth loss of the season with a dominant 6-0 shutout. The Roadrunners looked like a formidable opponent on paper, with an overall 2018 record of 10-3. The Falcons, however, took control early and never looked back. Sophomore Riley Spitzer and freshman Mikayla Smith both tallied two goals, and Alhan Bakideh and Corrine Christmann also scored for the Falcons. Hayley Semkiw and Emma Thompson both recorded two assists as the Falcons improved to 11-3-1 overall. They'll host Cosumnes River on Friday afternoon at 3:30 in Falcon Stadium.
