Early deficit too much as Falcons fall to Delta

The Folsom Lake women's soccer team found themselves in an early hole on Tuesday afternoon and could never quite dig themselves out.  Playing at Delta College in Stockton, the Falcons allowed two goals in the first twenty minutes to fall behind 2-0.  After Izzy Chinchay was fouled in front of the goal, the Falcons cut the deficit in half with a PK goal by Michaela Mayer just before halftime.  The second half was evenly matched, but there would be no more scoring in the game as the Mustangs held on to win, 2-1.

The loss leaves the Falcons alone in third place in the Big 8 Conference at 7-3.  They'll visit second-place Santa Rosa on Friday afternoon, hoping to avenge a mid-September 2-0 loss while playing for a chance to overtake the Bear Cubs for second place.
