The Folsom Lake women's soccer team arrived in Pleasant Hill on Tuesday afternoon having never tasted victory at Diablo Valley College. The Falcons put that demon behind them with a goal by Emma Thompson in the third minute of play on their way to a commanding 5-0 win over the Vikings. Sarah Scott tallied two goals – one on each side of the halftime break – while Riley Spitzer and Emma Schulz also scored for the Falcons. Goalkeeper Hunter Casperson earned the shutout with five saves. The win improved the Falcons' record to 8-2-1 overall and 6-2 in the Big 8.
The Falcons will host American River on Friday night at 6:00 pm for the Spirit Week finale; there will be a pre-game tailgate gathering in the track parking lot (no alcohol permitted) beginning at 4:00 pm.
