Women’s Soccer defeats Cabrillo

The Falcons began a two-game road trip with a 5-1 victory over Cabrillo College on Thursday night in Aptos while improving their record to 4-0-0.  Sophomores Hannah O'Donnell and Karina Torres led the Falcon attack with two goals apiece with O'Donnell adding an assist on freshman Paige Verneuille's first collegiate goal.  Despite the lopsided final score, Cabrillo proved to be a tough opponent that played hard, as indicated by the slim 2-1 margin at halftime.  "We adapted our play to suit the field, which was important," noted coach Donny Ribaudo, referring to the narrow football field the teams played on.   "Our superior fitness really made a difference in the second half, and our depth was apparent as well."

The women will spend some time today at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz while resting up for Saturday's match at Hartnell College in Salinas before heading back to Folsom Saturday night.
