Women's Soccer Caps Undefeated Season at Yuba

The mighty Falcons have done it again.  The FLC women's soccer team completed their clean sweep of the Bay Valley Conference yesterday with a 5-0 win over Yuba College, culminating a 12-0 BVC season.  With three goals in the first 15 minutes of play by freshman sensation Paty Navarro, the Falcons seized control of the game early.  Team scoring leader Michelle Kimball added a first-half PK and a second-half 'turn-and-shoot' goal to round out the scoring.  Sophomore Caitlin Castle assisted on two goals while Alexis Wallace also recorded an assist.

"We played quite possibly our most complete game of the season," noted FLC coach Donny Ribaudo.  With the win, the Falcons completed their conference schedule, scoring 76 goals while allowing just one.  Combined with last year's 12-0-2 record in conference play, the Falcons have gone two years without a loss in the Bay Valley Conference.  They now await the results of next Tuesday's NorCal seeding meeting, where state playoff matchups will be determined by power points.  The likely scenario has FLC hosting a first-round playoff game on Saturday, Nov. 22.

"We look forward to improving on last year's finish," commented Ribaudo. "We lost to San Francisco in the second round, but this team has loftier goals.  It should be fun."
