Women Win 4-0 vs. Solano

Women Win 4-0 vs. Solano

Despite taking 17 shots in the first 30 minutes (two of which bounced off the post), the Falcons were held scoreless for 38 minutes before sophomore Danielle Otto scored on a Penalty Kick.  The PK was the result of a foul against Alexis Wallace as she sliced through the box on an attack; the beaten defender had no choice but to foul, resulting in a PK.  The Solano goalkeeper had an amazing game as she turned away dozens of shots, but eventually the relentless pressure was too much to defend.  Freshman Paty Navarro took advantage when the keeper knocked away one of her shots with another spectacular save, only to have Paty put the rebound into the empty net.

Navarro earned Player of the Game honors as she scored a goal and assisted on another (to Alexis Wallace).  Her fancy footwork with the ball helped create several scoring chances for the Falcons, while the Solano defenders had no answer for her speed off the corner.  Paty now has 10 goals and four assists this season.  The final goal came off the foot of Danielle Otto (her 2nd of the game) on a return pass from Chayney Mata.  The win improves the Falcons' record to 9-3 overall, 5-0 in the BVC.
