Big Win 11-0 Over Contra Costa

Alexis Wallace led the way with four goals (if three is a hat trick, what do you call four?), Paty Navarro had three, Michelle Kimball tallied two, and Sami Thomas and Alison Darr scored one each.  It may have been Darr's goal that drew the biggest cheer from the crowd and bench, as the Falcons' usual goalkeeper got the night off from tending the net and saw considerable time at forward instead.  "We thought it would be a good opportunity to give Hannah (Smith) and Maddy (Ellis) some game-time experience in goal," remarked coach Donny Ribaudo.  "You never know when you might need to use someone else there.  Besides, Alison deserved a chance to play some forward."

The win improved the women's record to 6-3 overall and 2-0 in BVC.  "It was a solid win," Ribaudo said. "It was an opportunity for us to get everyone solid minutes and also be able to rest some players who were a little banged up. The girls focused on getting better in the attacking third, and we ended up with 30 shots, which was great."  The Falcons next travel to San Rafael on Tuesday to take on College of Marin.  The Mariners have managed just one goal while allowing 30 in their first four games.
