Falcons Rising: Women Win

"The game was not as close as the score sounds," joked women's coach Donny Ribaudo when asked about Friday's 6-0 wipeout against West Hills.  "We had several shots hit the post and the side net."  With five different players scoring the six goals – led by freshman forward Paty Navarro's two goals – the Falcons dominated every facet of the game.

Five minutes in, sophomore Danielle Otto scored the first goal on a laser shot from outside the 18, then threaded the ball to freshman Alexis Wallace for an assist in the 15th minute.  Also scoring for the Falcons were freshman Sami Thomas and sophomore Caitlin Castle.  With the game comfortably under control, coach Ribaudo was able to use his entire bench, even giving goalkeeper Alison Darr some rare time at center forward where she got an assist on Navarro's last goal.  "It was a total team effort," noted Ribaudo. "Danielle (Otto) set the tone early and had a great game, but it was really a total team effort."

The Falcons (1-2) will play their first home match of the young season under the lights tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 7 pm against Delta College.
