Grind-it-Out Road Win for the Falcons over Vikings

Grind-it-Out Road Win for the Falcons over Vikings

After an emotionally exhausting win versus #5 Delta College on Tuesday, FLC took to the road against an up-and-coming Diablo Valley College program beating the Vikings 58-47. It never looked pretty, but the Falcons found a way to win their program-best 18th win of the season.

FLC led wire-to-wire, building a 34-26 lead going into halftime thanks to a pull-up jumper buzzer beater by Alysa Lopez. Strong as ever, the defense for the Falcons held tough all game limiting the Vikings to 30% shooting from the field while causing 27 turnovers.

With limited scoring on the Falcons' side, they pushed the lead to 20 points in the 4th quarter. Some lackluster turnovers and fouling late, the Vikings clawed back to within 11 points, but it was a little too late as the Falcons solidified their win as the final buzzer sounded.

Megan Williams and Emily Ko led the Falcons in scoring with 12 points apiece. Corrie Harrison continued her rebounding dominance with 11 boards.

FLC (18-5, 8-3) takes a quick break, having only one game this week on Friday against the Hawks of Cosumnes River College (7-16, 1-10) on the road.

Go Falcons!
