Falcons Push Past Pirates

Falcons Push Past Pirates

Folsom Lake College continues its string of dominant defensive performances against a solid Modesto Junior College team, allowing just 36 points with a 54-36 victory. Over the last three games the Falcons have given up an average of 39 points per game, while outscoring their opponents by over 20 points. It is the standard of great half court defense, something that they have hung their hats on all year long. The Falcons are 10th in the state in points per game allowed at 51.2, and 8th overall in opponent's field goal percentage at 32.3%.

This all started from the jump as FLC held Modesto to three first quarter points, and 13 total by halftime. They really blew the game open in the third quarter, scoring 21 points to push the lead to 17. It was the interior play that stood out for the Falcons with Corrie Harrison and Megan Williams going a combined 13-24 from the field, grabbing 17 rebounds, and blocking 2 shots. Harrison finished with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds (8 offensive), and Williams with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

FLC ends the night at 13-4 (3-2) and MJC falls to 7-11 (3-3).

The Falcons head to American River College 4-11 (2-3) and tip-off starts at 7:30pm after the men's game.
