Falcon women race past Cerritos for easy 62-36 win

Saturday's final game pitted the Falcons against Cerritos College, who entered the tournament with a 4-3 record.  After a close (9-8) first quarter, the Falcons found an offensive rhythm while using a stifling defense to outscore Cerritos 21-2.  With a 20-point lead at halftime, the Falcons then put the game away in the third quarter, outscoring their opponent 26-14 to go ahead by 32.  With the outcome sealed, the Falcons coasted home with an easy 62-36 victory.  Sophomore Reya Lee led the Falcons with 13 points while Megan Williams and Ashleigh Briggs each scored 10.  Freshman guard Emily Ko, although she only scored 3 points, contributed with 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists.

The Falcons, now 9-1 overall, will next face Golden Valley Conference juggernaut Butte College (11-1) on Thursday night at Falcon Gym at 6:00 pm.
