Falcon women rally to win in overtime

The visiting Falcons turned around what started out looking like a blowout loss with an inspired come-from-behind 4th quarter, then outscored Santa Rosa 12-6 in overtime to defeat the Bear Cubs, 62-56 in Santa Rosa on Friday night.  Down by 10 points after three quarters and withy their offense in a funk, Falcon coach Ali Mollet scrapped the set plays and told her players to "go make some baskets" while also switching to a 2-1-2 full-court press – something they'd yet to work on in practice.  The Falcons responded with a 17-point final quarter while holding the Bear Cubs to 7.  With the momentum now on their side, the Falcons won going away in overtime to even their Big 8 record at 4-4.  Sophomore guard Shay Boley had a game-high 18 points, 5 assists, and 6 steals while also grabbing 9 rebounds.  Freshman forward Delaney Keddie led with 10 rebounds and had 13 points and 3 blocked shots.  The win allowed the Falcons (13-9 overall) to take sole possession of 4th place in the Big 8 Conference.  They will look to avenge a pre-Christmas loss to American River when they host the Beavers (10-9 overall, 2-5 Big 8) on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm
