The Falcons showed no fear as they hosted state #15-ranked Sacramento City College on Tuesday night at Falcon Gym, and after leading by one point at halftime, pulled away in the third quarter and held on for an exciting 79-70 victory over the Panthers. The Falcons used a combination of excellent shooting (53% from the field, 46% from 3-point range) and swarming defense to knock off the Panthers, who had previously defeated the Falcons a month ago by 21 points. Freshman point guard Shay Boley led the team with 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds while sophomore Alma Perez tallied 14 points with four 3-pointers. The loss dropped the Panthers (18-9, 9-5 in Big 8) out of third place in the Big 8, while the Falcons (9-14, 4-9 Big 8) moved past Cosumnes River into sixth place.
