Panthers pull away in second half to defeat Falcons

Playing their third consecutive game against a state-ranked opponent, the Folsom Lake women's basketball team again hung close for the first half (31-27) before succumbing to host Sacramento City on Friday night, 62-41.  Once again, the Falcons' defense kept them in the game while they held the Panthers to ten points below their average.  But in the second half, the Falcons struggled to find their offense as the Panthers pulled away.  Freshman guard Shay Boley again led the Falcons with 16 points, while sophomore Alma Perez added 14.

The combined records of the Falcons' last three opponents (Diablo Valley, Delta, and Sac City) is a gaudy 46 -8.  The Falcons' next five opponents (Modesto, Sierra, Santa Rosa, American River, and Cosumnes River) are a combined 33-45 and 7-19 in Big 8 play.  They'll play at Modesto (2-12, 0-5) on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
