Catcher Madison Shirey delivered a clutch RBI single in the sixth inning, bringing home Melia Ritchie and giving the home crowd a reason to cheer.

On the mound, Mary Franceschi provided a strong start, holding Mendocino scoreless through the first three innings. The defense also tightened up, playing error-free ball and making smart plays in the field.
