Falcons Falter Against Hawks in Big 8 Conference Clash

Folsom – In a Big 8 conference matchup, the Folsom Lake College Falcons squared off against the Cosumnes River College Hawks in a home game showdown on Tuesday afternoon. Despite a valiant effort from the Falcons, the Hawks emerged victorious with a final score of 7-2.

The Hawks wasted no time asserting their dominance, jumping out to an early lead in the first inning with Abigail Woodfill's RBI triple, driving in Eden Hobart. They continued to pile on the runs in the second inning, courtesy of Malia Babasa's two-run triple, putting the Falcons in a 3-0 deficit.

The Falcons battled to claw their way back into the game, but the Hawks' offense remained relentless. Cosumnes River added to their lead in the fourth inning, with key hits from Isabelle Vela and Sarah Babby contributing to a four-run surge.

Down 7-0, the Falcons showed resilience in the sixth inning, capitalizing on an error to put Summer Lagomarsino on base, who later scored on Aila Lyden's sacrifice fly. Despite the effort, the Falcons couldn't overcome the deficit, ultimately falling short against the Hawks.
