FLC EARNS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON IN BATTLE OF THE FALCONS

Norwalk, CA - In their second game of a three-game road trip to Southern California, the Falcons of Folsom Lake College (0-1), faced off against the Falcons of Cerritos College in the SportsNetUSA.net Invitational.

For the second-straight game, FLC gave up a first inning run to go down 1-0, but this time the bats came alive, and the Falcons responded with four (4) runs in the second inning, two (2) in the third, and one (1) in the fourth, to defeat the Cerritos College, Falcons 7-2.

Freshmen outfielder, Clair Yanez, started the scoring rally in the second inning when she reached first on a fielding error which brought in Haylee Reginato from third base. Yanez ended the game going 1-for-4 with a home run, and three (3) RBIs. Along with Yanez, Araceli Jaimes, Sydnee Verlin, Isabela Savala, and Elizabeth Wylie all were credited with RBIs.

In her season debut, sophomore lefthander, Angelina Baquera earned the win after pitching three innings where she faced 16 batters and gave up six (6) hits and two (2) runs. In the fourth inning, freshmen lefthander, Isabella Savala took the circle and completed the rest of the game to earn her first save of the season. Savala, faced 16 batters in four innings and gave up 3 hits, and no runs.

The Falcons' next game is Saturday, January 28th in the third game of the SportsNetUSA.net invitational when they take on the Southwestern College, Jaguars in Norwalk, CA.
