Butte
The FLC softball team took advantage of last week's dry weather to play a makeup doubleheader at Butte College in Oroville on Thursday afternoon and came home with a 12-4 win and a 7-3 loss. In the opener, the Falcons broke open a tight 3-3 game with a six-run 6th inning, then added three more in the seventh on home runs by outfielder Hannah Harvey and infielder Bib Burnett. Harvey also had a triple, Burnett finished with 3 RBI, and shortstop Jessi Lawhorn had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Starter Olivia Aguigam pitched a complete game for the win.
In game two, the Roadrunners built a 4-0 lead until the Falcons scored two in the fifth inning, but that was as close as they'd get. Kylee Boykin had a double and a home run and drove in 2 of the Falcons' 3 runs, but the rest of the lineup managed just four hits in the loss.
