Modesto takes game two of doubleheader
The Pirates jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in game two and never looked back as they racked up 16 hits in the 14-3 victory. The Falcons' offense continued to swing the bats well, as evidenced by their 11 hits, but couldn't string enough together to counter Modesto's output. Sophomore Maria Matista's two hits tied her for the team lead in hits (10) and batting average (.370) with Makalah Alexander. Gaby Fruciano collected her team-leading third double of the season.
The Falcons will travel to south Sacramento on Tuesday to play Cosumnes River, then return home for a non-conference game against Lassen on Wednesday at 1:00 pm.
