When the Modesto Pirates and Folsom Lake Falcons met at Falcon Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, the two teams' combined records had a total of one loss. But that would change after 90 minutes of intense play as the Falcons broke open a close match with three second-half goals on their way to a convincing 4-1 victory. Kameron Kascht scored the only goal of the first half with a nifty move in the 27th minute, then added another goal ten minutes after the Pirates had tied the score 1-1 early in the second half. Sophomore defender Jamison Waugh bolstered the Falcon lead less than a minute later to make it 3-1. The Falcon scoring surge continued four minutes later (70:00) when sophomore defender Dylan Huft bent a long shot just inside the top corner from 35 yards out.
With the win, the Falcons improved to 6-0-4 and 1-0-1 in Big 8 Conference play while the Pirates fell to 6-2-1 and 0-2. The Falcons will play at American River (5-3-2, 1-1 in Big 8) on Friday evening at 6:00 pm following the Falcons/American River women's match.
