Men’s soccer battles to scoreless draw

The Falcons returned home from a long weekend road trip with a Tuesday afternoon home match against 2018 Final Four participant Taft College.  The intensity of the match was evident from the kickoff as the both teams tried to gain an early advantage.  The Cougars came close when they banged a shot off the post, but the match remained scoreless through the first half.  The second half saw the Falcons increase the offense pressure as it became clear that Taft was content to pack the defensive end of the field in an effort to prevent a Falcon goal…. at the expense of having any scoring chances for themselves.  Neither team was able to find the net and the match ended in a 0-0 tie.   Falcon coach Justin Johnson had high praise for the play of freshman midfielder Omar Ramirez and sophomore forward Brian Gonzalez

The Falcons' record now stands at 4-0-3 with a chance to improve on that coming up on Friday night against West Valley (7:00 pm, Falcon Stadium).
