With obvious disappointment following their tie at Sequoias, the Falcons packed up and headed south to Taft to face one of the state's best teams (ranked #5 with a 11-2-1 record) for a Saturday afternoon kickoff. The Falcons played up to the level of their competition in this one, giving the Cougars all they could handle. The match proved to be as even as the teams' records, as neither team was able to penetrate the other's stout defense until Taft found the game winner in the 88th minute. The 1-0 loss was a huge heartbreak for the Falcons, having played so well against an outstanding opponent.
The Falcons will travel to Lemoore on Tuesday to take on West Hills, then return to host Fresno on Friday.
