Aguilar scores late goal as Falcons tie CRC
There was bound to be a letdown after already having clinched the Big 8 title, but the Folsom Lake men's soccer team still managed a 1-1 tie with Big 8 runner-up Cosumnes River on Friday afternoon in south Sacramento. Neither team scored in the first half of play before the Hawks managed a goal early in the second half for a 1-0 lead. The Falcons trailed right up until sophomore Luis Aguilar put the tying goal – his team-leading 10th of the season - in the net with less than two minutes to play. With the tie, the Falcons finished the regular season with an overall record of 13-3-5, easily the most wins ever for a Folsom Lake men's soccer team. Their 7-1-2 record in Big 8 play earned them their first-ever conference title and will hopefully be enough to land a home game in the first round of state playoffs on Saturday, November 18.
