Falcons continue torrid start, defeat Gavilan 3-1

Despite having 11 days off from competition, the FLC men's soccer team picked up where they left off as they defeated visiting Gavilan College on Tuesday afternoon at Falcon Stadium, 3-1.  The Falcons actually fell behind early, allowing a goal in the 11th minute of play.  But Falcon sophomore forward Luis Aguilar continued to pepper the Rams' goal with shots and eventually tied the score midway through the first half.   With the offense continuing to pressure the Rams' goal, it was just a matter of time before the Falcons would find the net again.   Early in the second half, Aguilar scored his second goal of the game with a header off a corner kick.  Five minutes later, sophomore Austin Moen attacked the goal, then found an open Manny Montoya who scored the third and final Falcon goal.

With the victory, the Falcons improved to 5-1-1 and are set to open Big 8 Conference play on Friday at Modesto.
