Men’s soccer earns tie at Lake Tahoe

The Falcons escaped the valley heat with a season-opening match at Lake Tahoe Community College on Friday afternoon at South Tahoe and came home with a come-from-behind 2-2 tie against one of the top teams in the state.  The Coyotes, who were a state final four team and ranked 7th in the country in 2016, built a 2-0 lead after the first 45 minutes.  But the Falcons fought back in the second half with goals by sophomore Santiago Peniche (unassisted) and sophomore Austin Moen (assist by Luis Aguilar) to earn the hard-fought draw.
