Lake Tahoe Defeats Falcons

Playing against a "community college" team with a roster that included 23 international athletes, 13 out-of-state athletes, and 48 total players (that's 2 teams!), the FLC men's soccer team lost a non-conference match to Lake Tahoe on Monday afternoon, 5-0.  With players from England, Scotland, Spain, and Brazil (just to name a few), the Cougars wore down the Falcons with their physical style of play while continually bringing on fresh players.  The Falcons kept it close throughout the first half and fought hard to stay in the game, but when Lake Tahoe scored their second goal shortly before halftime, the demoralization was clearly evident.  The Falcons persevered, but were simply outnumbered in this hard, physical match.

Putting that game behind them, the Falcons can look forward to their next home match on Friday September 4 against Butte College under the lights at Falcon Stadium.
