Falcon Men Drop One to Contra Costa

Once again, the defense was solid but the offense couldn't score.  The FLC men's soccer team suffered a disheartening loss at Contra Costa College on Friday afternoon by the score of 3-0.  The Falcons shut down Contra Costa for most of the game, but made one costly mistake in the first half that resulted in a Contra Costa goal.  Down 1-0, the Falcons were the aggressors throughout the second half, mounting attack after attack that saw FLC outshoot their opponent 11-3.  As has happened regularly this season, though, the shots just weren't finding the net.  Contra Costa eventually got second half goals on a Penalty Kick and a late-game counter attack to cap the scoring.  "There were lots of positives to take back from this game," noted coach Martin Roberts.  "We can see we're improving and we definitely look forward to playing at home twice this coming week."  The men host College of Marin at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, then host Yuba at 6:00 pm on Friday as part of a M/W doubleheader.
