Golfers win tournament #5, climb back into first place

The Falcons made the most of a picture-perfect day and home-course advantage on Wednesday afternoon, winning Big 8 tournament #5 at Rancho Murieta.  The Falcons shot a season-best 387 to win by 13 strokes over Modesto, with Big 8 leader Napa Valley in third with 403.  The Falcons were led by Nathan Jetton, who shot a one-under-par 71 to capture low medalist honors.  The win was Nate's second consecutive tournament victory.   Freshman Jeff Pealer and sophomore Kaden Ward were the other Falcons with sub-80 rounds, shooting 77 and 78 respectively.   Interestingly, Pealer just moved into the lineup after Monday's tournament and he immediately made an impact as the Falcons' second-lowest scorer.  The win, coupled with Napa's third place finish, allowed the Falcons to regain a share of the Big 8 lead.  The two teams are tied with 54 points after five tournaments, with Modesto in third at 42.
