Golfers win final Big 8 tournament; finish 67-3 in conference!

The FLC golf team finished their Big 8 season with their 12th tournament victory (out of 14 ) after winning at Chardonnay Golf Club in Napa on Monday.  The Falcons shot 385 to defeat Sierra by four strokes and American River by six.  Falcon freshman Max Menconi wrapped up perhaps the finest season by a Big 8 individual golfer, shooting 69 to claim the individual Big 8 MVP award.  In 14 tournamentts, Max never shot a score above 79 and his last four rounds were 71. 74, 72, and 69.   The Big 8 champion Falcons will now prepare for next Monday's CCCAA Norcal Regional championship at Dragonfly Golf Club in Madera, where they'll play 36 holes in one day with the top four teams qualifying for the state championship tournament.
