Falcon golfers win 10th straight Big 8 tournament

Coach Barry Zarecky's FLC golf team won their tenth consecutive Big 8 tournament on Monday afternoon at Whitney Oaks and earned a bit of redemption on a golf course that was the site of their only Big 8 loss of the season.  Monday's team score of 396 – played in less than ideal conditions with the wind and intermittent rain – was 29 strokes better than their score on the same course back in mid-February, when they finished six strokes behind Sierra in second place.  Sophomore Connor Gaymon had his best round of the season and won low medalist with his 72, while Max Menconi continued to be Mr. Steady while tying for second place with a 75.  Meanwhile, the Falcons increased their points lead in the Big 8 standings to 26 with just four matches remaining.  Tournament #11 is at Woodbridge Country Club in Lodi today (Wednesday) starting at 12 noon.
