Even in the rain, Falcon golfers win again

Despite playing the back nine in a driving rainstorm, the FLC men's golf team turned in yet another winning performance on Monday as they won Big 8 Tournament #6 at Windsor Golf Club in Santa Rosa.  The Falcons narrowly defeated host Santa Rosa by four strokes, 393-397.  Max Menconi not only survived the elements, but thrived as he shot a 71 to tie for low medalist honors.  Through six tournaments, Menconi has quietly become the Falcons' most consistent golfer.  Connor Gaymon and Brandon Kelly followed with 78 and 79, respectively.  The win was the Falcons' fifth straight tournament victory, a school record.  With Wednesday's tournament #7 already postponed due to rain, the Falcons are now off until April 2.  They head into the break with a 16 point lead in the Big 8 standings over runner-up Sierra, with both American River and Santa Rosa 4 points behind that.
